Hi all,

Things went pretty well this time with no DQs and a bunch of lively defs.
There's even a player who played regularly in the past but not for a
while. So we have a grand 14 fake defs this time and one real one. Try to
find it with your two votes and perhaps you will be the next dealer. (Lucky
you...at least it won't be me!)

Deadline to vote is 11 p.m. EDT on Wednesday March 21. Which is, according
to timeanddate.com, 3 a.m. GMT Thurdsday March 22. That's the best I can
do.

Looking forward to passing this along...four deals in a month is plenty!

Nancy

1. [Gaelic] dross; impurity; bad spirit.

2. In cartoons, a wavy dotted line tracing the path of an inebriated
character.

3. in sports, a player who is a liability to the team.

4. (Pol.) Blood sausage flavored with garlic.

5. (Mining) a kind of buddle used in washing tin ore.

6. a wedge-shaped spike for securing an end of a timber butting against the
side of another.

7. to remove part of something temporarily, in order to put something else
into working order, but with the intention of replacing it later. [from
borrow + rob]

8. One of two small prongs used to fasten rope to a trebuchet.

9. [Obs.] large; bulky.

10. A soft thick lump or mass.

11. pitiful horse; a nag

12. giant (as of a person) (from _Gulliver's Travels_)

13. a spike or a blunt needle used to hold something in place [orthograph.
var. of BROD]

14. dull white surface on glass that has been etched or abraded

15. a warbling whistle.

I'll try 1, because my wife likes it, and 11, because the different font makes me suspicious.

After I send this off I'm going to look up "buddle."

I'll go with the spikes:

6. a wedge-shaped spike for securing an end of a timber butting against the side of another.

13. a spike or a blunt needle used to hold something in place [orthograph. var. of BROD]
