Right now for zipcode 33317, Accuweather.com is predicting 61 mph
winds between 9am and 11am. Weather.com is predicting a max of 65 at
the same time(s). So far, we've had nothing major.
However, The offical word from the national hurricane center at 5am
has Wilma 55 miles SW of Naples, Fla., heading northeast at 20 mph.
This track has the storm entering Florida just south of Naples about
8am and leaving Florida sometime this afternoon near Palm Beach.
However the eye is some 45 miles in diameter, so the winds are going
to cover a large area. The 5am advisory gives max winds at 125 mph
right now. I'm hoping it weakens as it crosses the state.
If you're plotting at home, I'm just west of Fort Lauderdale at
about 26 deg 7' N, 81 deg 13' W
