The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows defines sonder as:

n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

However, the more rare, historical definition of the word as defined by Oxford is "Of or relating to a class of small racing yachts."Â* I chose to use the Collins version of the definition, simply "a yacht category" which I didn't even think sounded like a definition.Â* Five of you, however, disagreed, leaving me with a disappointing D5.

The only other definition to receive 5 votes was Keith Hale's glassware thumping, which would have given him the deal even without him guessing correctly.

Tony Abell, Dave Cunningham and Tim Lodge share runner-up honors with 4 points.

Take it away, Keith!
