Nice spread of votes - but I thought the fact that "shabble" is akin to
"sabre" was really interesting.

1. a winding sheet [Stevens] 4 9 (Shefler) (Lodge) (Abell) 3
2. Armenian divorce [Shefler] 1 *3 2 + 0 = 2
3. an old rusty sword [Chambers] NV (Kornelis) (Madnick) (Shefler) D3
4. second-hand clothing [Bourne] NV (Stevens) (Shepherdson) 2
5. the basket hilt of a highland sword [Barrs] NV (Madnick) (Lodge)
(Abell) 2
6. a disreputible person; a ragamuffin [Shepherdson] 4 7 (Mallach) 1
7. waste metal attached to a cast coin [Mallach] 6 8
(Naylor)(Shepherdson) 2
8. leftover mould material from a metal casting matrix [Hale] 12 13
(Naylor) (Mallach) 2
9. to work or dress (stone) roughly, preliminary to fine tooling
[Madnick] *3 5 (Stevens) 2 + 1 = 3
10. clay or mud mixed with stubble or chaff, used as an exterior wall
coating [Lodge] 1 5 (Widdis) 1
11. to negotiate prices while using empty promises or suggested threats as
leverage [Kornelis] *3 12 (Widdis) 2 + 1 = 3
12. a cocktail made of whatever limited ingredients are available, served
on the rocks [Widdis] 10 11 (Kornelis) (Hale) 2
13. post which cannot be forwarded by the postal services because it is
illegibly or incorrectly addressed [Naylor] 7 8 (Hale) 1
Abell 1 5 0

Every submitter got at least one point this time. Three people got three
points - but only Guerri was all natural, leaving Hugo and Judy in the
clear. Congrats!

Dave (sorry for lateness - but had company last night for a while)

Are you telling me I'm the next dealer? I guess you are. I'll get a word
out later this morning. Now if I could only remember how to deal ....

You are absolutely right! I apologize to Guerri for this miscue. And
you are due for the next delayed deal :)
