Here are a nice dozen possible definitions for KLINOSTAT. Without using a
dictionary, please vote for two hereof as likely real definitions before 5
p.m. EDT on Friday 9 June. As always, all errors are the fault of the
dealer, but I checked my mailbox a few times now.

1. any of several devices used to measure slope.
2. a control for adjusting the blade pitch of a propeller.
3. a valve that regulates the pressure in a steam engine.
4. the overall angle of the windward slope of a sand dune.
5. a revolving stand for experimenting with growing plants.
6. a device used for measuring the level of salinity in water.
7. an early instrument similar to an octant, used to measure wave
height.
8. an instrument used for measuring the inclination of geological
bedding places; a theodolite.
9. a device for controlling pressure and pressure in an autoclave (after
its inventor, Gottfried Klindorf)
10. an experimental drug for the treatment of certain forms of Gaucher's
disease but never marketed.
11. a device used to control the amount of a drug administered by a drip
to a patient according to various measured parameters.
12. a regulator on a belt-drive manufacturing system designed to control
the speed of rotation based on the number of operations in process.

Let's see if I'm able to stay in last place. :-(

I'll go with the slopes:

1. any of several devices used to measure slope.
4. the overall angle of the windward slope of a sand dune.

I don't see my def here - possibly it's been combined with another. I'll
vote for 1 and 6.

1. any of several devices used to measure slope.

6. a device used for measuring the level of salinity in water.

Did not find it in my inbox, or in any of my accounts, which means I do not
know what happened. Can you check the address you used? My iPad checks all
my accounts now.

Dave

I used thecunn5393 at bellsouth.net address, which usually works. I've
tried forwarding my original message to the same address - let me know
whether it arrives.

I don’t see my def here. Mainly because for the second round in a row I got distracted and didn’t send one.Â*Â* Blast.

I’ll still offer points to the authors of 4 and 7
