Kindly vote for two hereof without recourse to any lexicon, before 5 p.m.
EDT on Friday 14 April 2017. All errors, as always, are the fault of the
dealer, who is anxious to avoid the neurosurgeon.

1. a procrastinator
2. festal excitement
3. lack of choice; pot luck.
4. presented without evidence
5. the use of literal expressions
6. _archaic_ discomposed or rumpled.
7. one who entertains foolish speculations
8. a mélange or mixture of various foods hastily put together; a
potpourri.
9. a false assertion by one person that he or she is someone else,
usually in order to claim an inheritance.
10. 1. a take it or leave it job offer. (see Hobson's choice) 2. a town
cryer or any job using the voice. (deriv. rhyming-slang from Hobson's
choice (1) meaning voice.
11. a programming language used to specify the manner, timing, and other
requirements of execution of a task or set of tasks submitted for
execution, especially in background, on a multitasking computer.
12. a man's tall. collapsible top hat, held open or in shape by springs
and usually covered with a black, silky fabric [named for hat sellers Oscar
Hobson and Henry Jobson, who popularised the style in the 1870s]

May as well get this over with. I'll try these (although there are a lot of good choices!):

3. lack of choice; pot luck.
8. a mélange or mixture of various foods hastily put together; a potpourri.

Is this another case of the real def being left out?Â* I don’t believe any of them.

I’ll take 12 as the only remotely believable option, and 6 as the only other one I didn’t completely rule out.

Hi all!

I don't believe any of these. Not at all. Then, I didn't believe the
word either, so I guess that makes the defs good, right?

My choices: 1 (to explain why I don't have a def in there *), and 11
(because I can)

Cheers,
Hugo

* That is not the real reason. I'll send a separate OT message to bring
you all up to speed on some recent health issues.

Dave

Despite what I said to you privately, I don't recognise anything here
(except my own) so I think it's safe to vote: 5 and 8, please.

5. the use of literal expressions

7. one who entertains foolish speculations
