Here are 11 definitions for GARLE. Vote for 2 no later than 5PM EST,
Monday, January 9.

1. [So. Fr.] braised duck.

2. a screen or chain-linked curtain in front of a fireplace.

3. a round loaf of bread.

4. a steep, rocky trail.

5. [Sc.} a lintel.

6. a long pole on wheels for transporting logs.

7. [OE] to swallow.

8. to spoil butter by handling it with hot hands.

9. colored vertical streaks in clay resulting from seasonal changes in
the water-table [see also "gley"]

10. hostile; adversarial.

11. a home-made firework consisting of a small cone of damp gunpowder
which is lit at the top.
