Not that I care about these silly labels, but for the record: "Publicly" is
not an adjective, Johnny. It's an adverb.

mea culpa.... and it really is unforgivable in context of my yesterday.

It was late at night for me and all evening we had been discussing the lack of grammar teaching in schools over here in the UK; -
we have friends who are foreign-language teachers and they find it very difficult to teach inflective languages like French or
German, when pupils are not taught any English grammar. Where languages conjugate verbs and decline nouns (and where nouns have
sex!) then then a knowledge of the parts of speech becomes important.
