Hi all

According to the OED, a spinther is a scintillation, whatever that might
be. Our winner is Chris Carson with 6 unnatural points for his precious

Ouch! I just saw this. I’ll dig out a word and post later today.

By the way, a scintillation is a flash of light. I used to have a little gadget when I was a kid, called a cloud chamber. When a charged particle passes through the chamber it produces a flash of light, or scintillation. Cloud chambers were standard fare for scientific toy kits in the 50s when uranium prospecting and Geiger counters were all the rage.
