View Full Version : [Dixonary] Rd. 2372: Vote for caitliff!

nancygoat
August 12th, 2016, 11:08 PM
Unused as I am to the deal, I've managed to delay posting the defs by 12
hours after setting the original deadline 12 hours too early. At any rate,
I've gathered 15 clever definitions for CAITLIFF, including one from an
actual published dictionary.

Please vote for your two favorites, rewarding cleverness as you wish, and
earn 2 points for guessing the correct one if you can. If you decide,
after seeing the defs, that you really do know the word, please send your
DQs to me privately. There were no DQs during the deal.

So, here, for your voting pleasure is CAITLIFF. Please submit your votes
publicly by the deadline of 11:30 a.m. US Eastern Time Sunday August 14. I
believe that is 6:30 p.m. GMT the same day.

Good luck! (including to me, in hopes I don't make any more mistakes...)
Nancy

Arghh, already wrong. Although it was Johnny who led me astray, I
dislexically followed right along. This is, I think, Round 2732, not 2372.

I’ll go with 4, for the odd repetition of both despicable and cowardly, plus 9 for the odd spelling of sergeant.

I am quite prepared to accept the fact that I am numerically dyslexic -
it has been a feature for the whole of my life - but I do not see any
message subject that refers to a round number until you posted the
deflist. (although the earliest message that claims to have that number
within it (even if I can's see it there!!) is Efrem's telling you that
the word hasn't been played.

Also reading my emails to you around this time - including the comments
about the fact that a word list hadn't been posted since February I
still don't see that number

So... People, if I led anyone astray I apologise even if I can't see
where I did it

1 and 9, please, hoping I've scraped in before the deadline.

I have very erratic wifi here among the Cumbrian mountains, so may find dealing difficult if by some
miracle the deal comes my way in the next couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
