Despite the extended deadline, we only have ten definitions for NID-NOD from which to choose, so your two votes give you a 20% chance of guessing correctly.

The deadline for voting will be in about 33 hours, at 1pm PDT Tuesday July 12, which is 4pm EDT, 9pm BST, 10pm CEST, and in the early morning hours Wednesday in Oceania, 6am AEST and 8am NZST.

1. knottiness; a knotty swelling

2. to nod repeatedly from drowsiness

3. [Yorks.] the Green Woodpecker (_picus viridus_).

4. a mechanical railway crossing warning sign, also known as a wig-wag.

5. A counterbalanced, reciprocating crude oil pump operating at the wellhead.

6. [Colloq.] the shade side of the domes of the Eden Project in Cornwall UK

7. a nursery rhyme with a repeated rhythmic refrain.

8. Another name for the child's game peek-a-boo.

9. a card game similar to Old Maid.

10. a catnap.

Or, assuming you know which definition is your own and don’t vote for it, 22.2%. Even better!

(Of course, if you didn’t submit a definition your odds drop to 20%.. That’s your punishment. Next time, submit one.)

If memory serves, the right definition is seldom right in the middle of the list. So, I’ll vote for 5 and 6.

I'll take 1 and 8 since no one has voted for those yet, thus precluding the
possibility of a D0 for the dealer.
