View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2712 Word Announcement: GELDHEAD

Tim Lodge
May 26th, 2016, 04:40 AM
What an unexpected pleasure to be dealing again so soon!

The new word is:

*******************
* *
* GELDHEAD *
* *
*******************

Please send your fake defs and DQs to me by email to dix (AT) timlodge (DOT) co.uk
before the deadline of:

21:00 CET on Friday 27th May
or 20:00 BST for the dealer
or 19:00 UTC
or 3:00 PM EDT
or 12:00 midday PDT
or 05:00 AEST on Saturday in Melbourne
or 07:00 NZST on Saturday in Wellington

I've got a hectic couple of days away from my computer coming up, so I may
not be able to post a reminder or acknowledge defs.

New players are welcome. Don't look up the word, but just send me a fake
and fanciful definition.

Having some purely theoretical knowledge of what a gelding is, it sounds rather unpleasant.

It could be very unpleasant, not to mention fatal, if it's your head
being removed.

Efrem

that is the punch-line of a very old joke

What do you do for a living?

I castrate Camels

Wow! How do you do that?

With two bricks

Ouch! doesn't that hurt?

Only if you leave your thumbs between the bricks

Yes, I know. I’ve also heard a version in which the same technique is used to persuade a camel to drink more than the usual amount of water before a long desert journey.

(I lived in the Middle East for six years, several decades ago, and have probably heard every camel joke in existence.)

the joke or that you lived in the Middle East? The former is very widely
known with several variations; the latter is a tad more esoteric.
