Sorry for the slight delay.

The word for the upcoming round is:

GROAK

If you actually know the meaning of this word, please e-mail me immediately; if there are too many
folks familiar with it, I'll choose another word.

Otherwise, please send me (again, by e-mail, NOT in direct response to this message) your notion of a dictionary definition for it, no later than:

Thursday 17 March:
4 p.m. EDT
3 p.m. CDT
1 p.m. PDT
8 p.m. GMT
9 p.m. CET
Friday 18 March:
7 a.m. AEDT
9 a.m. NZDT

Heinlein would have to have written it down phonetically from spoken Martian. While he has it as “grok” in the Latin alphabet, this was a somewhat arbitrary choice on his part. I don’t think there’s any British or American, right or wrong, here unless we first agree that anything Heinlein transcribed has to be written his way and only his way. :)
