View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2680 - New word OGDOAD

Tim B
January 28th, 2016, 01:03 PM
I saw that one coming very early on, though I can't imagine why! I wonder whether this one will
bring an immediate flurry of DQs.

The word for this round is

************
* *
* OGDOAD *
* *
************

As usual, no indication of capitalisation or otherwise is implied.

New players are welcome. Don't look in a dictionary. If you know the word, let me know soon, by
email (if too many people know it, we'll pick another word).

Think up a creative, intriguing, funny or genuine looking definition that will entice your fellow
players to vote for it. Send it BY EMAIL (not as a public forum message) to me at the address this
message originally came from, before the deadline, which is 8 am GMT (0800 UTC) on Saturday 30
January. That may well be 3 am in New York and 00.01 or so in Los Angeles, and corresponding times
in other places, or probably just over 36 hours after the time stamp on this message.

Full rules, if you're curious, are at www.dixonary.net.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.

Sorry, Tim, that word has already been dealt, by Mike Shefler in Round 2158.

We'll await your second choice.

Well it made a D2 so it was at least decently obscure. Although my fake
earned 0 that round.

Dan, Dodi and everyone else

According to the records on site the word dealt at 2158 was OGDAD (not
as this one OGDOAD) - which just goes to show that the records are wrong
because the emails show OGDOAD all the way through - records corrected
at home now and I will post the lists to the site later today

Apologies to Tim because that means that although I check on receipt of
announcement then because the records are wrong I didn't notice that
immediately

Yes, I checked as well, and though I was in the clear with OGDOAD. OK, I'll find another word. It
may take a little while.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.

I'm happy to wait a bit longer as I was about to give up on inventing a
suitable def. Yet now I find I did come with a FAQ* def (2 votes) in 2158.
Mind you I was younger then.

Jim
*That's the original FAQ, not the modern upstart.
