My previously creditable ranking as a fairly sneaky dealer has just been
destroyed by an ignominious D11. It's all my own fault of course, the
result of dealing in a bit of a fluster and without recourse to my
shrinking list of potentially sneaky words. I hoped in vain that the
presence of other smelly defs would provide camouflage but not so. And
once JBarrs went for 15 and 17 no less than six others followed his
lead, which means that Nancy's perfumed def wins her the next deal with
9 points. Inevitably all other scores were relatively low, with Dodi and
Efrem as joint "real" winners with 4 each.

For what it's worth, I voted (as usual) without looking at anyone else's
votes. I did look afterwards to see that I matched our resident
dictionary, and felt smart. :)

And I was the first to vote for it -- certainly very few people would
follow my lead with my voting record. LOL!

Dan, I meant followed as in came after rather than mimicked. In hindsight it's hardly surprising so many figured a good smell and a bad one were a logical pair.

Judy, when I'm on D1 with the first vote it's not a good omen!

And I'd say that when I guess the "real" definition, a lot of others will too!
