Has anyone installed the 2016 version? For awhile I kept getting popup
ads that it was time to update. I was confused because the ads would
appear within a day or sometimes within hours after I had "updated".
There was no mention of a new version. When I finally go around to
asking, the person who responded said I was getting the ads because I
had not yet updated to the 2016 version.

So I thought I'd ask about experiences the Dixonary folks have had, if
any. I've been a bit annoyed with AVG of late because of a "service" (I
think) it installs that runs all the time. It used to be possible to
"stop" it, but may latest attempt do do that failed. Possibly user error
on my part, but I don't think so.

My AVG is version 2016.0.7303
running on Win XP
(click 'options' then 'about' after opening AVG from 'system tray')

services shows 3 out of 4 'avg' services 'started' automatically

'task manager' shows 9 'avg' EXE processes

I started on ver. 2014 and it updated itself every now and then to 15 and then 16 without much notification except to require reboots now and then

AVG 'free' recently started scanning your history and cache and bookmarks and searches etc. to sell the results to advertisers, after being supposedly sanitized of personal info
