Fellow players,

The first half-dozen replies to LANGREL included one explicit DQ and one definition that was so close to the truth that it was probably culled from some dormant memory of the actual word. I suspect that is a harbinger of more DQs to come. Rather than wait for the probably-inevitable, I’ll bite the bullet and re-deal.

For the curious, langrel is a type of shot formerly used at sea, consisting of many bolts, nails and other pieces of iron, used for tearing sails and rigging.

The new word for Round 2665 is

************* MOONCUSSER **************

where the capitalization doesn’t indicate anything. Let’s see how this one flies If you know its meaning, please tell me by private e-mail. If too many people know it, I’ll deal yet another word.

If you already sent in a definition, feel free to replace it. A few of those sent in for LANGREL could still work; one or two wouldn't. It’s your call. I will leave existing definitions in place unless I hear from you..

Please send a fake definition to emallach(at)verizon(dot)net by 10 am U.S. Eastern standard time on Sunday, December 6 - about 47 hours from now, one day after the original deadline. That time may also be:

7 am, U.S. PST
9 am, U.S. CST
3 pm in the UK
4 pm on the Continent
5 pm in South Africa
2 am on Mon., Dec. 7, in Melbourne
4 am on Mon., Dec. 7, in New Zealand

(You may want to check those times.)

Don’t send your fake definition by Reply to this message; that will publish it to the group.
