A quinzhee (also spelled quinzee or quin-zhee, neither of which is
nearly as fun in Scrabble) is somewhat of a poor-man's igloo. Rather
than stacking blocks of hardened snow, a quinzhee is constructed by
making a large pile of snow, and then hollowing out the inside.

According to OxfordDictionaries.com, the word made it into English from
the Athabaskan language in 1984 via Gerald Durrell, in his book, /How to
Shoot an Amateur Naturalist/
<http://www.amazon.com/Shoot-Amateur-Naturalist-Gerald-Durrell/dp/0316197173>.
John Barrs has read this book and was DQ, along with Shani Naylor who
had this on her list of words to deal; you may very well have seen it
had the last round's votes settled slightly differently last round.

Votes were very evenly spread, with Chinese fruits being the only
concept to attract more than two votes. Tim Bourne's breakfast fruit
earns 4 votes and the deal. Dick Weltz was the only player to guess da
woid, leaving me with a respectable D1* and placing him in the "real
winner" spot with 4 unnatural points.

Over to you, Tim.
