It felt, here, a bit like 9/11/01, even though the slaughter was across an ocean rather than five miles south.
And this was the Washington Square Arch, in New York's Greenwich Village, Saturday night:

In 2001, we gathered at local firehouses to salute the first responders. In 2015, hundreds gathered at the French consulate.
