View Full Version : [Dixonary] OT: Wiki reference

The Dixonary page on Google Groups includes this sentence in the intro: "Having
just celebrated its silver jubilee, it is now, at least according to
Wikipedia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fictionary>, the world's
longest-running online game, and is still going strong."

I don't know who maintains this but the Wikipedia link now has no mention
of us. And our silver jubilee is now well past.

I made an edit to the Fictionary page on Wikipedia. I updated the rounds
played to "more than 2,600." Other than that, I used an exact copy of the
previous item. That paragraph had been edited out by a user called
'Collect' on March 17, 2015.

All wiki edits are held in suspension until approved. We shall see if it
stands.

Seven months seems like a long suspension! Not that it's a high priority,
wikiwise.

I meant that my edit would be suspended until reviewed. I am assuming that
Collect's edit went active back in March.

I have the page on a watch so I should get a notice any further changes.

The text I saw when I followed that link /did/ say "more than 2,600".

Now I"m confused. When I looked just a minute ago the final paragraph about
Dixonary is there with your 2600 reference. But when I wrote my first post
I was sure there was no mention of Dixonary at all. Did something change in
the past 7 hours or was I simply very unobservant the first time? I fear
the latter is a real possibility.

Actually the removal was by "DreamGuy" - "Collect" was the person who had
added the mention in the first place.
