It appears that such may be the case, as the doctor could not pinpoint a cause for the sudden changes. However, she does seem to be making some progress eqach day toward where she was before the fall, so we are hoping.

No change in meds. She did have a very thorough workup Thursday by the head of one of  NYU/Langone's neurology departments, and he could not ascribe any particular cause to the behavioral changes. He will, though, have her get a PET scan, which he thinks might show some additional information beyond the MRIs.

Is she on any new meds (e.g., an antibiotic or pain med) that might worsen her dementia? And maybe even pain could add to her confusion. It's not easy, and she's fortunate to have you for support. Hang in there....

Thanks for all the good wishes. Jane's dementia worsened noticeably after the fall -- which added a broken humerus to our problems -- and I have had to arrange for the home health aide coverage to be extended to 7 days and longer hours.

She does show some improvement in the past few days, and I am keeping my fingers crossed.
