No fewer than 7 players followed the path through the forest blazed by
our illustrious scorekeeper Mike Shefler who takes line honours. Close
behind him on the path was Paul Keating bearing a twig of witch-hazel
with which he divined 6 votes. Early in the voting period Mike warned me
he's unable to deal the next round so that responsibility now falls to Paul.

The sash for 'real' winner then goes to Tim Lodge whose extended watery
definition picked up 4 votes, possibly helped by its circumflex.

The dealer's wythe is the brick partition wall, sadly not filled with
rubble. Dan Widdis was the only guesser. Johnny B sent me three other
known definitions plus one for publication that was based on what he
thought was an obscure meaning. Not obscure enough for Chambers'
Technical Dictionary however, so they were combined. (Coincidentally in
my previous deal I combined the real def.)
