View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2635 QUARRONS results

Tim Lodge
August 21st, 2015, 04:17 PM
I'm closing the round promptly because of other commitments. Up until the
last but one vote came in we had a 4-way tie for the next deal. However,
Tony Abell's late vote for the real def propelled him into a clear lead
with an unnatural 6. The real winners are Shani Naylor, Dave Cunningham,
Keith Hale, and Mike Shefler with 4 points apiece. Four of you guessed the
real meaning of QUARRONS - it's a rare word for the body. I may find it
difficult to get online for the next 36 hours or so, I will fix any erros
after that.

Over to you, Tony.

Tim,

I understand that you may not get to this right away, but there seem to be some errors in the totals. Definitions 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 11 and perhaps more have more natural points than they have names listed as voting for them. I don’t know if it’s an arithmetic error, if it’s just that all the voters weren’t listed, or something else, but you might want to go over them again.

Thanks - good word! Sure had me fooled!

I only checked my own bluff def - it lists 3 players votes but 4 points.
For whatever reason Chris Carson's vote was counted but not labelled.

Good round! I was starting to sweat there! (C;

Sorry to all concerned - I was too eager to get the results out quickly.
I'm in a brief respite between putting up tents, laying out tables and
chairs, and so on for a family reunion we're having today - we've got 26
for lunch in a couple of hours! Revised results are posted below - I hope
I've got it right this time.

Tim, the family reunion sounds exciting. Hope and trust everything got set
up on time and the event went well.

Just curious: Are you doing something different in your last few deals?
Everything's weirdly spaced out, with ten to twenty letter spaces between,
say, "Submitter:" and "OED" and between "OED" and "VOTES:" (huge space
there). And then "Votes: 0 & 0" (multiples spaces each side of the
ampersand). There are also several spaces after each clue number.

I don't remember such unusual appearances in the past.

Thanks - the family party went very well. It was a beautiful sunny day and
everyone had a great time.

I thought the formatting looked OK this time. I looked at it both online
in the Google Group and in the email summary version. I always have a bit
of trouble with it, because I'm compiling the results in MS Excel and then
reformatting them in Word. I'll try to do better next time.
