View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2619: MOELLON

With apologies for the delay I'm finally back at the helm, my hand firm on
the tiller, ready to steer our creaking ship on its 2619th voyage, this
time to the distant port of

MOELLON

of which little is known since the ship's log shows that previous
helmpersons sailed no closer than MODJADJI and MOFETTE. Where could it be
and what treasures might it conceal? Brave lexicographical mariners are
invited to submit secret sailing orders; the rest of you may submit a
fanciful definition of this word. Either way your private email should
reach me within the next 38 hours, ie before morning tide on Wednesday
which my almanac predicts will occur at:

Wednesday at 1030 at Port Melbourne,
or 0030 UTC for those on the high seas
or 0130 summer time at Greenwich
or 2030 for those moored in the Hudson River

… with said 2030 on the Hudson River being on Tuesday the 23rd - right?

Yes, Tuesday night/evening/afternoon for any craft with chronometers to the
left of the prime meridian

So far deckhands Hale, Cunningham, Carson, Madnick, Bourne, Stevens,
Keating, Abell, Shefler, and Barrs have signed on for the voyage. Still
another 25+ hours remaining before we set sail on a flood tide of strained
metaphors for distant MOELLON.

With but one naddish public definition on this round there has been no call
to get the jewelled crown out of the first mate's locker. However this
morning I must go ashore to see the dental chandler regarding a more
modest, but no less expensive, crown of my own, he being of the opinion
that it is time to replace the golden one that has served my molar for some
40 years. They don't make them like that any more.

Dental chandler, eh? I like it. I must suggest that to Stuart when I see
him next month.
