The word for this round is

*************
* *
* QUADREL *
* *
*************

As usual, no indication of capitalisation or otherwise is implied.

New players are welcome. Don't look in a dictionary. If you know the word, let me know soon, by email (if too many people know it,
we'll pick another word).

Full rules, if you need them, are in the files area of the corypaheus group in YAHOOGroups.

Think up a creative, intriguing, funny or genuine looking definition that will entice your fellow players to vote for it. Send it BY
EMAIL (not as a public message) to me, john<dot>barrs<at>ntlworld<dot>com

before the deadline...which is

22:00 Thursday 6th Oct BST
Which is - if I get it correct
23:00 CET
17:00 EDT
14:00 PST

John Barrs didn't write, but the Yahoo headers included:
> Received: from n1a.bulk.scd.yahoo.com Wed, 05 Oct 2005 19:17:24 -0700 (PDT)
> Received: by n1.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 05 Oct 2005 09:22:49 -0000
It took Yahoo seventeen (17) hours from when it got this post from John
and delivered it to my in-box. That's pathetic. No wonder they're
losing market share to Google...

I think there are probably some alternatives we can look into.

Dan

I am more than a little confused about how yahoo works! (OK, so its you and me both!) but when I received my copy from yahoo the
timeings were [[if I understand the ehaders correctly]]

Received: from unknown 5 Oct 2005 09:21:25 -0000
Received: for <coryphaeus (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com>; Wed, 5 Oct 2005 10:10:10 +0100

Received:for <john.barrs (AT) ntlworld (DOT) com>; Wed, 5 Oct 2005 10:35:53 +0100

So it says that it took about 1:50 minutes to arrive on site (9:21 to 10:10 +1) - if I have my maths wrong and I should subtract
the hour then it arrived in <minus> 10 minutes
(I was watching that in yahoo and it actually arrived in about 15 minutes subjective lapsed time)

Then it held on to it before sending back to me as a listmember about 25 minutes (10:35-10:10) _ again I am online all along and can
report that is about the lapsed time involved.
