View Full Version : [Dixonary] OT: Another TBird Question

I hope the experts in this group will be able to help with a Thunderbird
problem. My question has nothing to do with function; it's moving mail in
and out just fine. But I'd like to fix a new annoyance.

I have a bunch of folders in which I file mail (by dragging from the Inbox
or Sent list). They're in alphabetical order; at least they were, until
yesterday. I probably did something to mess that up, but I've no idea what.
Now, the first six have rearranged themselves; my problem at this point is
to get them back in order. Simple dragging doesn't seem to work.

Let's call them A through F. They were in the usual sequence: A (which has
several subfolders), B, C, D, E, F.

They now appear as follows: D (properly as a main folder); A (with its
subfolders) as a subfolder of D; F (properly as a main folder); E as a
subfolder of F; D and B, in that order, as subfolders of E.

Can anyone tell me how to return them to their original sequence?

TIA.

If you drag the subfolders back to the root, they should appear in the
correct order.

What's "back to the root"? (All of this stuff is under "Local Folders" and
follows the things like "Inbox", "Sent", etc.) And by "the subfolders", do
you mean those that are now subfolders and shouldn't be?

"Local Folders" would be the root in that case. And yes, I mean the
subfolders that shouldn't be such. Just drag them back to "Local
Folders" and everything should be OK.

OMG! It worked! Thank you, THANK YOU!

If I ever win another Dixonary round, I shall turn over all of my points to
you. :-)
