Hi all
We have 18 definitions for our word NURRIOR; 17 of them are fanciful (or
not so fanciful) fake definitions and one is real. Please vote for 2 of
them.
1. One who shears sheep.
2. A place where alms were distributed; an office responsible for the
distribution of alms. Also: the residence of an almoner, which in some
cases also served as an almshouse or provided other accommodation.
3. A foster-father.
4. A Polynesian spear-throwing device.
5. A mill for inscribing or milling the edges of coin flans or planchets.
6. Scaly insectivorous mammal with elongated snout.
7. An intermediary; a go-between.
8. A farming implement used to goad farrowing sows.
9. A hunter-gatherer; one who works at providing food [obs. see "nourish"].
10. Monk responsible for purchasing or bartering for foodstuffs that a
monastery does not produce.
11. A type of rocket propellant for model rockets using sugar as a fuel,
and containing an oxidizer such as potassium nitrate or "salt-peter".
12. A white linen vestment used by Greek Orthodox priests during Easter
celebrations.
13. A fierce animal spirit, said to impart courage and strength to those it
inhabits. [W. Afr.]
14. A breed of dog developed for the hunting of aquatic animals, such as
the nutria.
15. A conscientious objector; a pacifist.
16. An atomic particle that follows a non-elliptical path around the
nucleus.
17. A person who habitually questions everything.
