View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2588 new word: VAGILE

Efrem Mallach
March 4th, 2015, 06:18 AM
Dear Dixonarists,

This is too soon after my previous deal. I'll have to come up with less credible definitions in the future!

The word for Round 2588 is, as you might have suspected from the subject line,

*************************************
VAGILE
*************************************

barring, of course, an excess of disqualifications. Capitalization of the word in this message does not indicate anything about its usual capitalization, if any.

Please invent a definition that you hope your fellow players will find convincing, amusing, or whatever, and send it by private e-mail to emallach - at - verizon - dot - net. Don't Reply to this message, as that will send your definition to the whole group. You will then have to come up with another, possibly in a very short time.

If you know the word, please tell me by private e-mail to the same address. If enough people know it, I'll pick another word. If I don't do that, you can still submit an invented definition and receive points when players vote for it. You just can't vote if you know what its true definition is.

I'm on a tight schedule this time, so the deadline for submitting definitions is just under 29 hours from now: 12 noon (1200 hours) U.S. Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, March 5 (tomorrow). According to a time conversion Web site, that is also:

11 am, same date, U.S. Central Standard Time
9 am, same date, U.S. Pacific Standard Time
5 pm, same date, British Standard Time (and UTC)
6 pm, same date, Continental Europe Time
4 am, Fri., March 6, Australian Eastern Daylight Time
6 am, Fri., March, New Zealand Daylight Time

and other times in other places. I don't take responsibility for the conversions. Please confirm yours. I'll send out the list of definitions as soon as possible after I get out of a class at about 12:15 pm that day. after tomorrow.

The voting deadline, if you want to plan ahead, will be only about 24 hours after that. I have a three-and-a-half hour layover at O'Hare en route to China and will have to squeeze the scoring into that interval. If anything goes awry with that plan, I'll try to at least tell the group what's going on. In that case there may be a delay until I can get online from Beijing.

New players are welcome! Full rules, should they or anyone else want them, can be found at http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules .

Efrem

And a second... and a third... :)

The worst part about a Dixon isn't the embarassment. It's that you have
to come up with another def, usually under even tighter time pressure!

But, while I got it, it won't be in the list of definitions that will come out in about six hours.
