In the UK!?!?
I thought that was purely a South Africanism, calque of _voornaam_.
Of course, nowadays in the UK, local government is so politically
correct, they won't say christian name even with a small c, for fear
of giving offence.
But the US has been doing someting similar for years, so don't be
smug. "Happy Holidays"? Yeah.
