So far, we have a holiday crop 9 definitions received from the following
players:

Barrs, Bourne, Cunningham, Graham1, Mallach1, Morgan, shani.naylor,
Stevens and Widdis.

There has been only 1 DQ so FANTODS is a go for the round. There is still
plenty of room on the list, so shake off the turkey doldrums and get a def
in by email before the deadline, which is tonight at 9:00 pm EST.

Here is a final progress report in hopes of shaking another def or 3 out
of the woodwork in the next 5 hours or so.

So far, 14 definitions have been received, from the following players:

Barrs, Bourne, Cunningham, endash, Graham1, Hale, Madnick, Mallach1,
Morgan, Schultz, shani.naylor, Shefler, Stevens and Widdis.

The word, in case you missed the initial posting, is FANTODS. You still
have 5 hours to submit your fake definitions for this word, (which you
should of course send me by _email_). The deadline for definitions is

Friday, November 28, 2014 9:00 PM EST.

Chris,

I was planning to sit this round out because the word looks to me like a plurale tantum and I find it difficult to dream up plausible fakes for such rare orchids. But since leftover turkey seems to have had an inhibiting effect on other players' ingenuity, here goes...

usu. pl. (the leading members of) a puppet state or government [Fr. fantoche < It. fantoccio puppet]

PS. You might consider merging and tidying up player names (in that order), because it's clear the import has failed to recognize longstanding players, and there is a good chance Coryphæus will need a hint or two if it is to correctly identify submitter with voter, and get the scoring right.

Chris,

You might consider another def---if you see the multiple responses in time!

(Yes, Chris's software seems to be both inconsistent and confused as to the
players' IDs.)

The software isn’t confused. In an attempt to edit duplicate player identities, I probably confused it.
