So far, so good. Not only is the laptop working with Cory and my email
client but we have only one DQ from the usual suspect and a maybe on the
side so FOREGON is a definite go.

Definitions have been received, from the following players:

Abell, Bourne, Cunningham, emallach, Guerri, Hale, Hart, johnb, Keating,
Lodge, Madnick, Morgan, Naylor, sdsgraham, Shefler, Shepherdson and
Widdis.

The word, in case you missed the initial posting, is FOURGON. You still
have 23 hours to submit your fake definitions for this word, (which you
should of course send me by _email_). The deadline for definitions is

Friday, November 14, 2014 9:00 AM EST.

Now I've learned that bolding, enlarging, and changing colors don't work at
all in this venue. I did all three to point up the two different spellings.
It all added up to a couple of asterisks. Please don't explain why; I don't
want to know.

Ouch! Your Dealer has been careless along with everything else. The
correct spelling of the word is FOURGON. I should just let Cory compose the
messages and resist the temptation to type myself.

I do too, Dodi. I regret that I never had the opportunity to actually meet him but he was a huge online presence from the very start back when I was using a 2400 baud modem and dial-up.

I met him once. I'm not sure exactly when, but it was after Marion died (in
'04), and he decided to take a solo trip on the QEII, which was sailing
from New York. We had lunch.

That's nice that you could do that. The other day I ran across a hard copy
of his post when Marion died and I cried all over again.

With the demise of Tapcis, the old Tapfests died out too. I remember the
last couple that I attended at The Cajun in Chelsea. They were great fun
and there was a good group - as I recall, Toni Savage, Theresa Carey on a
visit from the left coast, Stu Lieber, Jim Hart from The Lonely Planet, and
I think Froma Bessel. There may have been others in attendance but that
was back in 1996-97 or so and memory dims. The Cajun had a great brunch
called "Jazz at the Cajun" and good food as well and made a good backdrop
for those gatherings. The first Tapfest I attended was right after moving
out to NJ from Colorado in 1996. I think it was held in Roslyn, Long Island
at a neat little place known for it's duck pond.
