Hi all!
In round 2547, 2 players earned top spot with 5 points: they were Guerri
Stevens and Daniel Widdis. If I am not mistaken, Daniel Widdis is ahead
in the rolling scores (but someone double check please!) - so he should
obediently deal the next round, while Guerri Stevens can thread needles
while enjoying his "real winner" position.
The true definition was 15: "able to be cleft or split". I found this in
the Phronstistery (http://phrontistery.info/). I also double checked to
see that the word is indeed in the OED - with a definition that is
formulated slightly differently, but means the same. I would have used
that definition if I had not lost the URL where I found it and been
unable to retrieve it.
Three players guessed right (Dodi, Judy, and Tim). And Johnny felt he
had to DQ - obviously. He had already mentioned that he thought he knew
the origin when he submitted his def. I have tried to convince him that
recognizing the origin is not enough reason to DQ, but I did not manage
to convince him so he did DQ after seeing the definition list. I still
think I should have had D4 and someone else should have had an extra
point, too.
Good luck with the next deal, Daniel! ;)
Cheers,
Hugo
