We have accumulated a total of 16 definitions for BAIDARKA, one of which
appears in an actual dictionary. Please vote for two, by public reply to
this message, before deadline, which is 6:00 PM EDT on Monday, September
15, 2014, or 3:00 PM PDT .

1. An arboreal monkey of West Africa.
2. A sort of cake or sausage, made of the salted roe of the mullet, much
used on the coast of the Mediterranean as
an incentive to drink.
3. One who confronts and vanquishes devils.
4. A military drum of ancient Greece and Phoenicia, used
to sound out the cadence for rowers in oared warships.
5. In the U.S.S.R.: a prison camp in which scientists and other
specialists were held in conditions more comfortable
than others in the prison system.
6. Food delivery or catering in areas only accessible by boat or plane.
7. A Croatian folk dance.
8. The loose end of a Toureg head-dress used to cover the mouth when
riding.
9. A one- or two-hole kayak used by the Aleut and various Alaskan Eskimo
groups.
10. A private game preserve.
11. In the Baha'i Faith, a twelve-day period in April/May each year
that commemorates the prophethood of Baha'u'llah.
12. A six-stringed instrument played with a curved bow.
13. Unrefined oil or resin extracted from the bark of the turpentine tree,
_Syncarpia glomulifera_.

Gosh, I can make a case for all of them -- except for mine, of course.

I will guess at these:

I was reading yesterday about paladins, so the number twelve and a holy
warrior strike my fancy. That means 11 and 16 get my votes.
