How can I not vote for Batman (#10)? (Especially because Thunderbird
chose to underline the entire definition.)

And I'll accept the etymology from the last def marking the word as
Aegean, but cast my vote toward the etesian Cypriot wind (#15).

l prefer the Levantine wind (15) to the Barrsesque calm (18). I think the
Malay form of address (1) is equally unlikely but I'll vote for it anyway.

That's 1 & 15.

I've winnowed them to half a dozen I think might actually be the real def.
I'm voting for:

9. Standing position.

17. A British consular certificate granted to a neutral ship in wartime
testifying that its cargo is correctly described in the manifest.

which pretty much guarantees it was one of the other four.
