All the anticipated votes are in, so I'm closing the round about 90 minutes
early (Rule 8*(b)(2)*) so that I can enjoy a rare sunny evening in Holland
uninterrupted.

The winner of round 2528 is Rose Knoblauch, whose definition "a
trick-taking card game for three players, similar to whist" earned a
natural 7.

There were four players in coveted second place with 4 points each: Tim
Lodge, Shani Naylor, Mike Shefler and Daniel Widdis.

The true definition was 7, the twofer: "1. a fine earth used as a
polishing-powder, consisting mainly of decomposed siliceous matter, esp.
that formed of the shells of diatoms; called also infusorial earth or
rotten-stone. 2. a large, mild onion; also, the plant producing a bulb of
this kind." (OED), which three perceptive players guessed.
