As you can see, I have succeeded in setting up a "from" email at Verizon which will get around AOL and Yahoo and show up as being from "endash" in mail I send to the group.

Now I need to figure out how to get GoogleGroups to start sending group mail to this address instead of my AOL one. Any advice, instructions?

Dick, I think one of the moderators can accomplish this instantly.

Dick

it is a case of adding the verizon and -question - removing the AOL ?
which we (moderators) certainly can do (in fact it will probably be done
before I get round to looking at it as I am just going out

Hi Johnny (& Dick),

I have added Dick's new mail address to the group, allowed posting from
it to go live without moderation, and set it to forward all mails
directly. I have not removed the old address yet (so Dick should now get
mails on both addresses, and be allowed to post from both), to make sure
Dick can still contact us if I made an error in the setup of the new
address.

Cheers,
Hugo

I've now removed email delivery to your aol address. You're still a
member with it and can post if that ever needs to be done, but it's
otherwise silent.
