[Dixonary] OT: Please ensure that you use known email addresses

Dear people

Spam is increasing:
In the last 5 days I alone have marked 123 messages in this group as spam.
(what I mean by "I alone" is that I don't know if other moderators have
marked any others than these)

The point is that sometimes you-all send a message from an "unknown to the
group" address and it comes into the moderation queue - and if we spot it
we can 'allow' it - if we do not spot it then we mark 'ban those addresses'
and that means not only does your current message not get through but no
message from that address will ever be allowed.and we moderators will not
see it again to moderate

So please make sure that you use your "known - to the group" addresses

PS you can always add another address if you need to - and remove addresses
when redundant.... I use two addresses as do other people

Yeah, I've noticed an increase in spam as well. I didn't get the last
few hundred but got a few hundred the week before.

When it gets that bad I, like Johnny, tend to mass-delete/ban, so if
you've posted and your message doesn't show, email me off-list to alert
me of the issue so you don't get unceremoniously banned (and added to
Google's spam filter for everywhere else while you're at it)
