View Full Version : [Dixonary] Rd. 2501: Mazut results

Apologies for the delay...ran into some problems. (And apologies for the
dreadful spacing and fonts below. There doesn't seem to be anything I can
do about it.)

I am fairly disappointed that the Dictionary's oddly specific Russian oil
residue was sussed out as the actual definition by four perceptive players
and Johnny Barrs.

New dealer next round will be Tim Lodge whose beret attracted an unnatural
6. Real winner is Tony Abell whose pestle earned a natural 5.

The results follow. Take it away, Tim!

Nancy

What a great, imaginative set of 21 definitions for little mazut. There
were no DQs, not even you-know-who, so everyone can have a whack. Please
vote for two, publicly, by 2 p.m. CDT (7 p.m. GMT) on Friday April 18.

Good luck!

I always considered the world of global petrodealers to be a fairly earnest
environment, but my post-vote googling about mazut turned up this site
www.mepetroleum.com which has some remarkably entertaining turns of phrase.

For example, the page on 'Our Environment' offers this insight: "We have
taken from mother earth, and she has given us plenty. But have we been
thankful enough, this has to [be] in the history of the universe one of the
greatest planets to exist in the solar system."

Can't argue with that I guess. Almost makes me want to order a barrel of
mazut but they don't seem to take Paypal.

Are you saying that Johnny Barrs is not a perceptive player???

Perhaps I should have been more specific: Johnny Barrs has extra-sensory
perception. I have never been able to fool him once.

While the rest of us are out playing in the sun, Johnny is in his den
reading the OED. For fun.

Doesn't everyone read dictionaries for fun? (I have done since as long as I
knew how to read)
