Dealer's comment: Just abut every dealer at some point in the deal sends
out a "Progress
Report" message which lists those from who fake defs have been
received -- and specifically requests anyone who sent a def but isn't
named on the report list to please resend the def.
The reason for this is that the Internet and its various email clients
have quirks via which a message may get "lost"; or human error may
have resulted in an accidental deletion of a received message by the
dealer.
Our esteemed fellow player, Dave Cunningham, did not see his name
on the "received from" list and, for reasons I'm sure are good ones, did
not resend his fake def but send a post about being omitted to the full
group.
This was not useful to your dealer who, therefore, didn't have the
Cunningham submission and couldn't find a trace of it in the "Old Mail"
and "Recently Deleted" files automatically generated by his AOL
software. A post was made extending the deadline and inviting Dave to
resubmit, but nothing happened.
In the absence of any clue as to what went wrong or why the fake def
was not resent, the dealer, confident of Dave's good faith, and
assuming that the problem was at this end, awards him 2 Dealer
Points for this round and apologies if the missing def was due to any
error on the dealer's part.
