Yes, it's an amazing project. I live very close to the Western terminal of
Crossrail, but it's going to be overground here. It's forecast to have a
significant effect on house prices round here, because it will make it much
easier for commuters to reach the financial districts of London.You linked
us to some particularly good photos - I just wish that the caption writer
had known how to spell *its* as a possessive!

There's a video of one of the tunnel boring machines breaking through
yesterday at:

We have several of that type of machine operating in NYC at present, most
notably in connection with the construction of the Second Avenue Subway
line. Although the press occasionally shows some still pictures of the face or
body of the monsters, this is the first (probably only) time there's been a
chance to see one making an actual breakthrough.
