Here we have almost a score of definitions of QUAQUAVERSAL. Your score
will be enhanced if you pick the real one. Someone else's score will be
enhanced if you don't.

Vote for two by replying to this message before the curtain comes down
in about 30 hours from now, on Sunday at 2230 Sunday my local time, or
1130 UTC or 0630 in the eastern Americas, etc etc.

1. at random.

2. very fast rhythm

3. a drinking contest.

4. Of great importance.

5. forty-fold; having forty parts

6. planar in four-dimensional space.

7. a stanza and rhyme scheme of poesy

8. turned or pointing in every direction

9. running down one side and up the other.

10. a spinning motion, as of a child's top.

11. universal with significant and regular exceptions.

12. existing only as a figment of someone's imagination.

13. An opinion or evaluation midway between two prevailing extremes.

14. (of a proposition) true under certain conditions, false under others

15. the analog of _universal_ in a multiverse cosmology [by analogy f.
L. _quaqua_ ‘however many’]

16. (sciences, science fiction) Of or pertaining to a universe that
exists separately alongside another universe.

17. the postulated proto-zebra which gave rise to the recently extinct
genus quaqua or quagga and all modern zebras

18. In the Roman Catholic church, the assignment of an archbishop to an
archdiocese in which he had once been a parish priest.

19. Of or related to a proposed cosmology in which each universe has a
discrete number of alternate universes rather than an infinite number of
alternate universes.

This time I'm voting early ...
can't wait any longer to find out what it REALLY is!
(so many plausible alternatives here)

5. forty-fold; having forty parts
or
8. turned or pointing in every direction

Too much cosmology, I think!

So 8 and 11, please.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.

Of my none-too-short-list of 4 answers, 14 & 15 seem to have the least pox
vop, so they shall be mine, i say! Uhm, yes, thanks.

The multiverses of 15, 16, and 19 are tempting but I¹ll take the more
subtle ³universal² interpretations: 8 and 14.

I'm supposed to be grading final exams, but certain things take priority!

In the absence of time to give this serious attention, though, I'll go for the definitions whose numbers end in 4: 4 and 14.

(My record from other deals suggests that my giving the list serious attention isn't very helpful.)

A distinctly perverse word, with definitions to match. Unversed in all but
a very few of the topics referenced herein and having no notion whatever of
which might be true or false, I'll randomly choose

and

and

14. (of a proposition) true under certain conditions, false under others

Thanks,

Chuck
