Nearly a D0 but these ozzies are a nuisance! (if you followed cricket you'd
understand, they have just thrashed the socks off us)

Not having a copy of The Sailor's Word Book (1867) I asked Samuel
Google-Johnson who said nothing about fish but interestingly pointed me to
several references to cotton candy - or fairy floss if you prefer - as well
as a vulgar meaning from urban dictionary. So I half expected the answer to
be 17, not that it would have made any difference to my fate.

Johnny, I'm no cricket follower but I think it was called revenge for the
previous series. I suppose this may take some of the interest out of the
remaining two matches, not that it will keep the fans away from the MCG on
Boxing Day.

Our showing was abysmal (may be even abyssmal) with (it appeared) no
effort to play professionally and we were made to look like schoolboy
amateurs against the big boys.
I personally do not think the Ashes should have been contested twice in one
calendar year but on the grounds of skill there is no doubt where they
should now be. I also wonder about the playing surface differences - but we
should have prepared for that, and home crowd advantage which always stands
with you-all playing at home - so many of our spectators here come from
other cricketing countries and who often have divided loyalties - and
rightly so
