I was too busy to vote, and now my schedule necessitates a rather short time
for definition submittal.

The word for round 2459 shall be:

+
++
+++
++++
+++++ SIMAR
++++
+++
++
+

or simar, capitalization being irrelevant. If you know the word, notify me
of your DQ status as soon as possible.

Please send your made-up, fictitious, fallacious or hilarious definitions to me
by email at hello (AT) isanybodyhome (DOT) com before the deadline, below. If you're new
to the game and are interested in playing, do NOT look up or google the word.
Read the rules at http://www.dixonary.net or the sticky messages in
tapcis.com's The Parlor section.

The deadline for definition submissions shall be:

Wednesday, 08:00am EST 20-Nov-2013
Wednesday, 05:00am PST 20-Nov-2013
Wednesday, 01:00pm GMT 20-Nov-2013
Wednesday, 02:00pm CET 20-Nov-2013
Thursday, 12:00am AEDT 21-Nov-2013
Wednesday 2013-11-20 1300Z

At almost 36 hours it seems quite generous to me, unless I have
miscalculated.

Jim

Yep. At 35 hours, it's very near the top of the range (24 - 36) prescribed
by the rules.

The rules may only permit 36 hours, but I usually stretch it quite a bit
longer.

My position is that 48 hours at holiday times is a minimum ... the precept
is that about 17 fake defs are needed if possible (a very ad hoc system).
Times under 30 hours tend to reduce participation a bit.

It was the Founders who decreed the 24 - 36 hours. Dave, you were around
then, weren't you? What was the thinking then?
