For the last few weeks, I've had intermittent problems viewing messages on
the Google Groups Dixonary page. When it occurs, I can see the subject in
the topic list, with a number of new messages shown, but when I try to read
the messages, I get a blank message template with a yellow box saying
"Loading" at the top. Sometimes it loads then, but more often it never
shows the messages. If I leave it a few minutes and try again, I can
usually read the messages successfully.

Is anyone else seeing these symptoms?

I'm using the latest version of Firefox - 25.0.1 - with Windows 7, but it
was happening with Firefox 24 as well.

Tim

I am having a similar kind of problem as a moderator. When warned (with a
message) that there are messages to moderate and I click on the link to
moderate messages it has started to do frequently either what you are
seeing (about 50% it gets it correct)

1. "loading" forever
or
2. telling me I am not logged in (despite showing who I am logged in as on
the top right)

re-logging in resolves both problems (I find it advisable to sign-out
rather than add an account because it really doesn't like *on this
page*trying to sign you in if you are already signed in)

I two noticed it FF 24 and now 25 but I think its a google groups thing --
reason for such thought: it is possible to be logged in and logged out at
the same time on the same tab - I find it particularly annoying that
logging out in a tab with gmail visible does not log me out of google in
that tab, I have to log out twice

Yes, I guessed that it was more likely to be a Google Groups thing rather
than a browser issue. I tried looking at the group in Google Chrome,
without logging in, and the messages displayed instantly.

I signed out of Google and signed back in again, and things seem to have
improved. It often seems to happen after my computer has been in sleep
mode, so I suspect it may be a cookie issue.

Yours was the first new message in my inbox when I started my computer this
morning. I don't normally visit that site (I get everything by e-mail)
but—before reading any other messages—I fired up Firefox and went to that
page. The Dixonary threads showed up right away, yours at the top. I'm
using Firefox 17.0.1.

Thanks, Dodi

The Google site seems to be behaving better since I signed out and then in
again, so I'll try that if it happens again.

Did you both notice it? I guess that's why you signed it twice

In true royal style we reserve the right to be plural (and to make up for
it we are not signing this at all)

Tim, I didn't have that problem at all until I read this message thread and
replied to JB. Now it's happening to me. Therefore it must be your fault!

But FWIW it worked fine again after simply closing the tab and reloading
the G/Groups Dixonary site.

FF 25.0.1 and W7

That's right - blame me!

Actually, you make a good point. I have Dixonary in a pinned tab in
Firefox, so it's there as soon as I start FF and stays there throughout the
day. Next time I see the symptoms, I'll try closing and restarting FF.
