Dave Cunningham
September 28th, 2013, 07:55 AM
Kindly vote for two hereof without consulting a sictionary before 7 p.m.
EDT on Sunday 29 September 2013.

1. a deep drop-off in the sea floor.
2. evidence left behind the passage of a lepton.
3. a prison cell; a dungeon or underground vault
4. A brownish darter found mainly in Brazil
5. a rock hollow in a desert rock, perhaps containing water
6. A sluice or lock, as in a river, to make it more navigable.
7. a logical fallacy; a special case of the undistributed middle.
8. an undersea volcano from which magma erupts periodically
9. significant gap in statistical data; a sharp valley or spike in a
chart
10. Any hole or hollow in the ground which is hazardous to galloping
horses.
11. a supermassive black hole, a remnant of the big bang theorized to
exist at the center of the universe.
12. opening in the wall of an Athenian temple through which the sun would
strike the altar at the solstice.
13. a hole that is reamed, drilled, or milled to a specified depth, thus
without breaking through to the other side of the workpiece
14. a hypothetical type of black hole from which some types of
electro-magnetic radiation might be able to escape.
15. a panel in the ceiling of an elevator car that allows passengers to
escape when the car is trapped between floors.
16. [Sanskrit] an offering to a Hindu god, usually in the form of
marigolds and a white sweetmeat.
17.a hole in the GNR reaching earth caused by an intervening cloud of
intergalactic dust. [in contrast to the background gamma radiation deriving
from the big-bang Gamma Nuclear Radiation is associated with a particular
stellar event, usually a supernova]

As always, all errors are the fault of the dealer.

Your def has not shown up in any of my boxes at all -- 2dp on your word of
sending though.

To all: I kinda like the word "sictionary" as covering all possible
misspellings of words.

From lots of possible holes, I'll pick the ones in logic and the temple
wall:

7. a logical fallacy; a special case of the undistributed middle.

12. opening in the wall of an Athenian temple through which the sun would
strike the altar at the solstice.

Only 11 and 12 seem remotely plausible this time. So I'll take those, I guess.
