Herewith are 20 definitions of ptyalism. One of them is from a stodgy old
dictionary. The other 19 are from the fertile, but devious, minds of fellow
dixonarians.

9, a type of wart usually found inside the elbow

10, a weakness in the intestinal wall.

11, an annoying or irritating mannerism.

12, an eruption of the skin, usually caused by an untreated insect bite or
plant thorn.

13, excessive flow of saliva. Also called hypersalivation

14, producing good effects, beneficial.

15, recreational sneezing, taking snuff nasally.

16, the act of pronouncing a letter intended to be silent

17, the inability to point one eye at an object, a lazy eye.

18, the repetition of an internal rhyme scheme more than twice in a stanza,
often found in rap music.

19, the skin with bright colors to define tribal associations [also used
disparagingly of lipstick as war-paint]

20, the state of being a ptyal, the belief or practice of a ptyal.

My youngest granddaughter suffers from one of the medical conditions
mentioned here - I won't say which one, or whether I'm voting for it, to
avoid giving others any clues. My picks are the elbow wart and the
intestinal weakness:

9, a type of wart usually found inside the elbow

10, a weakness in the intestinal wall.
