Hi all –

I was looking at a very respectable D2 for contorniate…and then Johnny
Barrs rejoined the game. So it’s a D3 for the classic Dixon definition,
#9, “encircled by a groove just inside the edge.” Who needs a word for
that? The Romans, apparently, to describe some medallions. I found it
while cheating at cryptic crosswords (with dict.die.net).

As a probable consequence of such a weird def, voting was very even, but
Tim Bourne takes the deal with his unnatural 5 for his contour-following,
followed by real winner, Tim Lodge, with his shell and a natural 4.

Take it away, Tim B.!

After escaping twice recently, I suppose that's fair!

New word coming shortly.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.
