A three way tie with 5 natural points each for Carson, Boswell, and Bourne
(sounds like a major law firm). Looking at the last scores, I find Mr.
Boswell is the next Dealah with Mr. Carson escaping by the skin of his
teeth ... unless I misread the rulez.
1. [coll.] Tired, usually as a result of a bad night or a hangover.
[Kornelis] 7 11 nil

2. rich [Chambers] D0

3. [Colloq.] Soft and squishy. [Shefler] 8 12 0

4. broken into fragments; splintered. [Stevens] 6 14 (Hale) 1

5. downy; soft; having soft plumage [Madnick] 8 10 (Graham) (Morgan) 2

6. Easily offended; oversensitive. [Carson] NV (Graham) (Bourne)
(Stevens) (Emery) (Boswell) 5!

7. to implant an egg cell. [Schultz] 10 13 (Kornelis) 1

8. In India, a fourth part of the day and of the night; a watch or space
of 8 gha?is [Lodge] 10 13 (Madnick) (Shefler) (Hart) 3

9. a camel. [Hart] 8 10 (Morgan) 1

10. (in South Asia) a master workman; a foreman. [Bourne] 6 14
(Madnick) (Lodge) (Hart) (Schultz) (Boswell) 5!

11. [OE] having poor coordination or clumsy. [Emery] 6 14 (Kornelis) 1

12. Canadian, especially Montreal, young people slang for the French au
fait (being up to date in knowledge) [Graham] 5 6 (Mallach) (Shefler) 2

13. a photographic filter used to produce blurring or softening of an
image [Morgan] 5 9 (Lodge) (Schultz) 2

14. A bad or unusable photograph (newspaper industry slang, from Out Of
Focus). [Boswell] 6 10 (Mallach) (Bourne) (Stevens) (Emery) (Abell) 5!

15. Shredded polyurethane foam used as a filler for pillows or cushions.
[Abell] 14 17 0

16. a nest egg: [Leg.] a client who can be milked for endless fees because
they insist on pursuing a case which cannot be won [ _oo_ ova or eggs +
_fiar_ fee] [Barrs] DQ (sigh) 0

17. Snowboarder slang: Descriptive of late spring snow conditions in which
bare ground is starting to appear [Mallach] 12 14 (Hale) (Abell) 2

18. A soft blanket used on a horse between the saddle and the horse's
back. [Wetzstein] NV 0

Hale 4 17 0

Such a neat word - but Johnny recognized it from P. G. Wodehouse's work.

Congratulations on the D0, Dave! Well done.

(This congratulation message coming from another one with zero votes -
and not quite so happy with it! ;) )

Cheers,
Hugo

Actually, Chris Carson should have been the dealer, since he and Glen are
tied in the rolling scores ,but Chris is ahead in total scores. But that's a
moot point now.
