As someone observed it might be Irish then again it might not. I was
hoping there would be a bunch of fake Irish defs which would hide the
real Irish def. I was half right - there were but they didn't and four
of you identified the sausage. (Well five actually, counting the late DQ.)

The result is superficially a 4-way tie with 4 points but one of those
is the dictionary and two got there by picking the real one. That leaves
(Irish fanfare please) Millie Morgan as the next dealer with her
popular wood nymph while Glen and Efrem are the real winners.

1. A brown cat.
from Tony Abell: voted 3 & 15 score 1

2. [Scot] a widow.
from Guerri Stevens: voted 3 & 15 score 1

3. a drizzle [Irish]
from Dave Cunningham: voted 1 & 12 score 3

4. An Irish thicket or copse.
from Glen Boswell: voted 8 & 13 score 2 + 2* = 4

5. good or beneficial spirit.
from Judy Madnick: voted 8 & 9 score 1 + 2* = 3

6. the rainbow colored patterns on wet tarmac
from JohnnyB: DQ score 1

7. An untanned leather with a granular surface.
from Chris Carson: n.v. score 2

8. a type of Irish sausage made with sheep's blood
from Dictionary: n.v. score D4

9. The hide of a three-year old cow, steer or bull.
from Steve Graham: voted 11 & 17 score 2

10. _Anglo-Indian_ The common light Indian bedstead.
from Tim Lodge: n.v. score 2

11. to curse someone while striking with a shillelagh.
from Mike Shefler: voted 10 & 15 score 1

12. [Irish] Land that slopes steeply down to the coast.
from Efrem Mallach: voted 4 & 8 score 2 + 2* = 4

13. a patented car wax formulation which needs no buffing.
from Chuck Emery: voted 2 & 6 score 1

14. _Gael._ long-standing companion, esp. in youthful escapades.
from Dodi Schultz: voted 5 & 10 score 0

15. A wood nymph fabled to live and die with the tree she inhabited
from Millie Morgan: voted 7 & 9 score 4

16. An erosion pattern on river and stream banks related to abnormally
high water levels.
from Nancy Shepherdson: n.v. score 1

17. heavy metal slabs used in controlled demolitions to shape the
direction of the explosive blast
from Keith Hale: voted 7 & 18 score 1

18. (Chem.) a method of testing for the presence of certain elements by
the characteristic color imparted to a flame; as, sodium colors a flame
yellow, potassium violet, lithium crimson, boracic acid green, etc.
from Daniel Widdis: voted 12 & 16 score 1

19. [No def]
from Franelle: voted 4 & 15 score 0

20. [No def]
from Tim Bourne: voted 3 & 8 score 0 + 2* = 2

Small correction, Jim: Mike voted for 10 and 14, not 10 and 15.

Please give me my point!

You're right; he's listed as not voting, but he DID vote.

... and Tim Lodge's other vote went to Dave's drizzle.

So I think that might make Dave our next dealer, with 4 natural points!
