A rather short list this time. Here are 16 definitions of eskippamentum,
one of which came from the dictionary. Vote for your two favorites no later
than 10 AM EDT, Friday, May 3.

sides, intended to minimize heat loss when people enter or leave.

2. a Double Dutch maneuver in which the jumper performs a back flip.

3. nonce word coined by Frankie Avalon after his recording of "Diana"
skipped and got stuck on American Bandstand in one of the world's
first attempts at lip syncing.

4. portrait of a patron or benefactor incorporated into a liturgical
artwork, especially in an altarpiece.

5. a kind of mucilage extracted from tar.

6. a road covering using local glacial deposits with a bituminous
binder, primarily used in Scandinavia.

7. the short beard growth on a man's face since his last shave, often
used to portray manliness and ruggedness; designer stubble.

8. ideas which are lost through inattention.

9. the tendency, when searching through a long list, to miss those few
items that might be of interest.

10. [Phys.] the second derivative by time of momentum; jerk times mass.

11. [_Obs. Sl.] A self-important person.

12. a poisonous citrus fruit, similar to a lime, with a purplish peel.

13. [Now _Alternative Med._] The therapeutic practice of burning eskippa

and bring it up on the other side and pulling it taut before securing
it. [literally: to equip with a skin]

In case anyone else received it with everything run on together in a single paragraph, this is my attempt at reformatting the list.

If this helps anyone, you may repay me by voting for my definition. Unfortunately, you're on your own in figuring out which it is.
